Request Modifications

After selecting a submitted application, the funding organization can open up the specific sections needing change by clicking on the appropriate "modification request" link and entering directions for the applicant. Once all of the specific sections are opened, the staff clicks on the "Request Modifications" button at the top of the application. A summary page with all of their requested mods will show, and staff can complete the process by clicking Request Modifications at the bottom of the summary. The application will be sent back to the grantee for modifications.

Some applications are returned to applicants by clicking on Reset. Reset will open all fields for edit by returning the application to the In-Progress state. Staff will need to email the applicant and explain the situation.

  1. On your dashboard, select the “Applications” button.

  2. Select the project title of the appropriate application from the list.

  3. Review the application and determine which areas need modifications. Wherever applicable, select the “Modification request” link and, in the text box that appears, add instructions for the applicant to clarify or add information to their application. Entering your modification instructions will give the applicant access to the appropriate field(s).

    In the example pictured, the staff added comments into two Modification Request fields. The applicant will be able to modify their expense items in both the Supplies/Publications category and the Indirect Costs fields.

     

  4. Click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the form before returning the application to the applicant.

  5. After saving your modifications, select the “Request Modifications” button to send the requests back to the applicant.

    *Note: Make sure you have filled out all applicable “Modification request” text boxes before sending. If no text is entered into a Modification request field, then that area will not be opened for the applicant to edit.

     

  6. The Modifications summary screen will appear. If you have specified modifications, your instructions will appear on this summary. Review the page. If no modifications were entered, you will not be able to click "Request Modifications".

     

  7. Confirm that you want to send the application along with the modification requests to the applicant by scrolling to the bottom of the summary screen and clicking "Request Modifications".
