Evaluate Letters of Interest (LOI)

For Funders who use the Letter of Interest Phase, submitted LOIs will appear in both the Module as well as the Notifications.

If you click on the module, a list of LOIs will appear. If your LOI isn't there, review the filters and click Apply filters.

Select the project title of the appropriate submitted LOI application from the list.

Once you have selected a Submitted LOI, the summary page will appear. Scroll down and review all of the information. There are four choices.

  1. Invite Application - The Grantee will be invited to submit a full application. See details below.

  2. Deny LOI - The Grantee will not be allowed to submit an application. See details below.

  3. Reset LOI - The Letter of Interest will be reset to In-Progress and the Grantee will be able to make changes. The Funder must notify the Grantee of required changes.

  4. Archive - The LOI will be hidden from the list unless "show inactive" is checked in the filters.

Invite Application

The Funder enters a message / notice to the Grantee. This Notice field will default to the text set in Organization Preferences. Clicking on Save will save the Notice text, but not send an invitation. Click on "Save and Invite Application" to advance to the next phase. After confirming, an email will be sent to the Grantee, and an In-Progress Application will be created for the Grantee. The Grantee can then complete the Application and apply for the grant. The LOI status will be changed to "Invited to Apply."

Deny LOI

After clicking on Deny LOI, the Deny Letter of Interest page will appear. The Notice field will default to the text saved in Organization Preferences.

Once "Deny Application" is clicked on and confirmed, an email will be sent to the Grantee and the LOI status becomes "Denied by Funder". (Note: Reset will still work on an LOI that was Denied - i.e., the Funder could return a denied LOI to In-Progress.)
