Maintaining Strategic Organizational Goals and Objectives
Strategic Goals and Objectives can be active within a date range, or open ended.
Begin by selecting the “Strategic Goals and Objectives” module from the dashboard.
Viewing
The module lists the active goals and objectives.
If Inactive is not checked, then only the Active Goals and Objectives will be displayed. If the Goal and/or Objective's date range includes today, then they are considered Active.
You can choose to view inactive goals and objectives by clicking the Show inactive box, and clicking on Apply Filters.
If you select Inactive, then you can filter more by chosing to specify a Start and End Date, or a Fiscal Year.
Click Apply Filters to refresh the list of goals and objectives depending on the filters.
Goals
To add a goal, select the “Add a goal” link.
To edit a goal, select the “edit” link to the right of the goal you wish to edit.
Fill out the goal input form.
Dates define when a Goal is active. Start and/or End dates can be blank if the Goal is open-ended.
Edit your goal and Save.
To remove a goal, select the “remove” link. If the objectives for this goal are associated with any Projects, a warning message will confirm the removal. If you remove the goal anyway, then all of its objectives and references to its objectives in projects will also be permanently deleted.
Objectives
After saving the goal information, you will be able to add objectives. Under the desired goal, select the link labeled "Add an Objective to the Goal" and enter your information.
For each goal, add as many objectives as are needed.
To edit an objective, select the “edit” link for any objective.
Make your edits, then select the “Save” button.
When removing an objective, if the objective is associated with any Projects, a warning message will appear before the removal occurs. If you remove the objective anyway, then all references to it within projects will be permanently deleted.
