Letters of Interest (LOI) Overview
DD Suite offers an initial, optional grant application phase called Letters of Interest. Letters of Interest can be used to conduct an initial screening of potential grant applicants. Granting agencies request and review short summary proposals, and then choose which applicants to invite to submit a longer grant application.
As with NoFAs/RFPs, the applicant must have a verified account and organization on DD Suite to respond to an LOI. They will be required to answer all questions, and then submit their Letter of Interest.
The Granting agency evaluates the LOI’s and approves or denies each one. If approved, the applicant is invited to complete the full grant application and DD Suite will initialize an in-progress application for the applicant.
LOI Setup with NoFA/RFP
LOIs are optional at the granting agency level and the NoFA/RFP level. Granting agencies can allow the use of LOIs systemwide through the Administration/ Preferences function. For agencies who are using LOIs, the phase can be selected for any specific NoFA/RFPs.
After including the LOI phase in a NoFA/RFP, Sections and the Outline Questions are each defined as for the LOI phase only, the full application phase only, or both phases.
